Your options

Vinyl & Fiber-Cement Siding

We install the two siding materials that make the most sense for District homes:

Vinyl siding

Affordable, low-maintenance, and available in dozens of colors and profiles. Modern vinyl holds its color well in D.C.'s strong summer sun and never needs painting. A great value for most homes.

Fiber-cement siding

A premium option that looks like wood but resists rot, insects, and fire. Heavier, more labor-intensive to install — and it shows in the finished look. Ideal if you want siding that reads as high-end and holds up for decades.

Not sure which fits your home and budget? We'll show you real samples at your free inspection and talk through the trade-offs honestly.

What matters most

What's Behind the Siding Matters

Anybody can nail up panels. What separates a siding job that lasts from one that rots from the inside is what's underneath: the house wrap, the flashing details, and the way every penetration is sealed. On our jobs, the wall gets wrapped in Tyvek house wrap, taped at the seams, and every window, door, and deck ledger gets properly flashed before a single panel goes up.

The photo above is from one of our actual D.C. jobs — you can see the new deck framing going in alongside the siding work, with the flashing details at the ledger done before the siding closes everything up. That's the order of operations that keeps water out.

Tyvek house wrap

A continuous weather-resistant barrier behind the siding — water that gets behind the panels drains out instead of soaking your sheathing.

Flashing details

Windows, doors, hose bibs, and deck ledgers all get metal flashing integrated with the wrap. These are the spots where cheap jobs leak.

Trim, soffit & fascia

We handle the whole exterior package — corner boards, window trim, soffits, and fascia — so everything matches and nothing's left half-done.

How it works

Our Full-Replacement Process

  1. Free inspection & material consult. We look at your current siding, check for hidden rot, and bring samples so you can compare vinyl and fiber cement in person.
  2. Written estimate. Material, scope, trim details, and timeline — spelled out before you commit to anything.
  3. Tear-off & sheathing check. Old siding comes off, and we inspect the sheathing underneath. Rotted sections get replaced, not covered up.
  4. Wrap, flash, install. Tyvek house wrap, taped seams, flashed penetrations, then the siding itself — level, plumb, and properly fastened.
  5. Trim & cleanup. Corners, trim, soffit, and fascia finished to match, then a full cleanup of the property.

Doing the whole exterior? Pair new siding with seamless gutters — we can scope both in one visit.

Estimates, not quotes

What Does Siding Cost in D.C.?

Planning estimates for the Washington, D.C. market — not quotes. Every project gets a free inspection and a written estimate.

Vinyl siding

$7–$13 per sq ft installed, depending on the profile, insulation backing, and how much trim work is involved.

Fiber-cement siding

Varies — call us. Fiber cement pricing depends heavily on the product line, finish, and trim scope, so we scope it individually after an inspection.

Homes with extensive rot repair or complex trim land higher; straightforward walls land lower. See more ranges on our pricing guide.

Common questions

Siding FAQs

Vinyl or fiber cement — which should I choose?

It depends on your priorities. Vinyl costs less, needs almost no maintenance, and comes in more colors. Fiber cement costs more and needs periodic painting, but it looks more like real wood and stands up to impacts better. If budget is the driver, vinyl is the smart pick; if you want a premium look and plan to stay long-term, fiber cement earns its keep. We'll lay out both at your inspection.

How long does new siding last?

That depends on the material and the installation. Quality vinyl siding generally serves for decades with little more than an occasional wash; fiber cement can go even longer when it's painted and maintained. What matters most is what's underneath — proper house wrap and flashing are what keep the wall assembly healthy, which is why we never skip them.

Do you handle trim, soffit, and fascia too?

Yes — the whole exterior package. Corner boards, window and door trim, soffits, and fascia are all part of a complete siding job, and we match them to your new siding so nothing looks like an afterthought.

Can you match my existing siding for a partial repair?

Sometimes. Siding lines and colors change over the years, so an exact match isn't always possible — especially on older homes. We'll assess it at the inspection and tell you straight whether a repair will blend or whether a larger section (or full replacement) is the better call.
